Active R&D Initiatives.
Rhysil organizes its active research programs around specific material endpoints. Each initiative is structured to transition raw agricultural ash and silica directly into commercial manufacturing sectors.
RHA Polymer Composite Program
Investigating the processing limits of compounding micronized rice husk ash (RHA) with post-industrial polypropylene (PP). This program monitors melt flow indexes (MFI) and impact strength properties to ensure composite suitability for injection molding applications.

Operational Objectives
Establish standard twin-screw extrusion parameters for 30% and 40% filled masterbatches.
Bio-Silica Extraction Program
Developing a zero-acid purification workflow to extract amorphous silica from ash. Our objective is producing a highly disperse, low-carbon bio-silica to replace energy-intensive fumed silica and quartz fillers in consumer coatings and sealant formulations.

Operational Objectives
Achieve heavy-metal contamination extraction down to sub-ppm levels.
Low-Carbon Building Materials
Validating ash-substituted cement mixtures under real weathering stresses. We formulate supplementary binders to cast durable exterior boards, pavers, and panels, monitoring shrinkage, water absorption, and compressive strength curves.

Operational Objectives
Establish cement binder replacements achieving equivalent 28-day compressive loads.
Particle Engineering Program
Calibrating air jet mills to control particle shape and size distributions down to the single-micron scale. Precision milling controls composite density, surface-to-volume bonding parameters, and final material gloss metrics.

Operational Objectives
Calibrate mechanical classifier speeds to produce highly consistent particle shapes.
Carbon Permanence & MRV
Verifying carbon storage permanence inside commercial products. We develop digital batch certificates that log agricultural origin points, compounding dates, and carbon intensity indices to feed audited third-party carbon registries.

Operational Objectives
Integrate raw material tracing databases with compounding batch software.
Zero-Waste Industrial Systems
Modeling closed-loop agricultural processing facilities. We study the thermodynamics of generating process energy from husk combustion, recovering high-purity ash from flue gases, and routing water loops back to processing units.

Operational Objectives
Complete energy balance calculations for self-sustaining gasifier furnaces.
